The Battle of the Books district competition is an exciting academic event where student teams from all MCPS Middle Schools compete by answering questions about a selection of pre-assigned books. It promotes teamwork, reading comprehension, and a love of literature. Participants prepare for months, reading and discussing books in detail, and the competition culminates in a lively, quiz-style tournament. The district level brings together the top-performing teams from each school, making it a highly anticipated and spirited event.
